Davisson and Germer Experiment || Matter Waves -2023

Davisson and Germer Experiment || Matter Waves -2023: In the Davisson and Germer experiment, a beam of electrons was directed at a crystalline nickel target. The electrons were accelerated and had a significant amount of energy. When the high-energy electrons struck the crystal lattice of the nickel target, they interacted with the regularly spaced atoms in the lattice. This interaction resulted in the scattering of the electrons.

GOVT. SCHOOL VISIT FOR PLEDGE TAKING CEREMONY-SWACHH BHARAT MISSION

“Cleanliness is next to goodliness”

Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan is  one step towards cleanliness. It was established on 2 nd October
2014.A clean India would be a best tribute India could pay to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150 th
birth anniversary in 2019.He invited 9 people to join the cleanliness drive and requested each
of them to draw nine more into the initiative.By inviting people to participate the Swachh
Bharat Abhiyaan has turned into a National movement.A sense of responsibility has been
evoked among people through clean India movement. Believing in the thought NSS Unit Cell
of Chitkara University, Baddi organised a visit to the government school.

It was organised on 8th September, 2015, in Kalujhanda. Around 10 volunteers participated in
this event along with NSS president Punit Jain and vice president Ritika Goyal. The
volunteers were first asked to gather near CU bridge at 9 a.m. After which everyone headed
towards the college van which was arranged to take them to primary school in our adopted
village. The volunteers  had a short introduction with students and faculty of the school. The
NSS volunteers  and the school students took pledge on swachh bharat abhiyaanin the
presence of school faculty. After that all were provided with  sweets as mark of a positive
start to the grand desire of cleaner and greener India.

The  motive of this event was that to make students realise the value and importance of
cleanliness in our surrounding. Being clean and tidy is important. Cleanliness should start
with personal hygiene. It is crucial for people to learn about hygiene, and the various diseases
linked to lack of it. Any habits, good or bad, taught or even picked up at a young age, get
embedded into one's personality. Unfortunately, today, many adults themselves do not set
very good examples of cleanliness. School and other educational institutions should spread
knowledge on importance of cleanliness by adding it in curriculum and textbooks.
Demonstrating cleanliness in school premises, involving students in cleaning activities is a
very good way to spread awareness about cleanliness.

We must take it as a social and moral responsibility to clean our surrounding and also educate
and encourage others to do the same. After the event completed all the volunteers were asked
to head towards the college van. Everyone reached college with a smile of satisfaction on
their faces at 10 am where they were appreciated by all for their extraordinary effort.

POSTER MAKING CONTEST-SWACHH BHARAT MISSION

“Creativity is the power to connect the seemingly unconnected”

There is a strong connection between creativity and self-motivation. We are always
experiencing moments in our life that lead us to creativity. Creativity is something we all
have, we just have to discover it in order to be able to have self-motivated and achieve what
we desire the most. For those who struggle with self-motivated NSS helps them to find
something they are passionate about, and to expand that passion in to motivation. With one
such motive a Poster Making Competition was organised.

It was organised on October, 7, 2015 in 5-6th hour in room no. 1507 pi block. It was a great
idea to present creativity along with motivation in front of the people. Around 25 students
participated in the event. The volunteers were guided about the management of the event
and were assigned particular jobs for the smooth working of the event. The participants were
given information about the competition along with that they were precisely made aware of
the rules regarding the same.

Words, when used in the correct way, can melt the stoniest of hearts. Words are known to
have triggered mass movements, which changed the course of history. Motivational posters,
too, make use of concise words to deliver the message in the most striking of manners.
Hence, they tend to create a rather strong impact on the mind. They have also initiated actions
in many cases. They induce a sense of optimism if things are not going well. And creativity
adds to the beauty of the words. It like giving visualising what we try to convey through our
message. Hence the participants were with a striking and current theme of “Swachh Bharat".

A small step from the end of every Indian citizen can be a big step for fulfilling the purpose
of the Narendra Modi’s ‘Clean India’ campaign or “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”. Our Prime
Minister Narendra Modi has started a cleanliness campaign called “Clean India” or “Swachh
Bharat Abhiyan”. We should understand that cleanliness it not only responsibility of our
prime minister however, it is the responsibility of each and every person living on this earth.

We conjointly should actively participate in this campaign for the healthy lives of all of us.
Cleanliness should be initiated at home, school, college, society, community, office,
organization and country level to bring a clean India revolution all over the India.  We all
should understand the motto, importance and necessity of cleanliness and must try to apply it
in our daily lives.

The posters made by the students contained quotation like that. They were filled with
creativity. The event successfully ended with announcing one winner at the end.

SHRAMDAAN--AN INITIATIVE FOR SWACHH BHARAT

“Good hygiene enhanced sound well-being”

Believing in the thought,”Not Me, But You” NSS Unit Cell of Chitkara University, Baddi
organises many events regarding the same. Wherever we live, it is important for us to keep it
clean. If our homes are clean we will obviously enjoy a healthy life. NSS as a team
understands the importance of a clean and healthy society. To promote this wonderful idea
NSS organized Shramdaan(cleanliness drive).

It was organised on 30th September, 2015, Kalujhanda. Around 22 volunteers participated in
the event. After college hours the volunteers were called near anganwadi of our adopted
village. At first the volunteers were asked to gather under the CU Bridge. The event was led
by President Punit Jain and Vice President Ritika Goyal. They guided the new volunteers
about the event and also divided them in teams which were further assigned locations and
with particular jobs.

Being clean and tidy is important. Cleanliness should start with personal hygiene. It is crucial
for people to learn about hygiene, and the various diseases linked to lack of it. Any habits,
good or bad, taught or even picked up at a young age, get embedded into one's personality.
Unfortunately, today, many adults themselves do not set very good examples of cleanliness.
In fact, habits like smoking, chewing tobacco and betel leaves, and spitting on roads and
sidewalks, are a sick heritage handed down from our parents and elderly relatives. Many
public places used for defecating are left messy and stinking, leading to any number of
diseases. There is a dire need to educate and sensitise people about the importance of
cleanliness in light of our faith.

Litter on roads, polluted water bodies and poor sanitation make excellent breeding grounds
for creepy crawly pests. A healthy environment is necessary if we want to stay healthy. If the
environment is dirty it badly affects the health of the people living around.

School and other educational institutions should spread knowledge on importance of
cleanliness by adding it in curriculum and textbooks. Demonstrating cleanliness in school
premises, involving students in cleaning activities is a very good way to spread awareness
about cleanliness.
SPREADING AWARENESS ABOUT  BENEFITS OF MAINTAINING CLEANLINESS.

We must take it as a social and moral responsibility to clean our surrounding and also educate
and encourage others to do the same.

After the event completed all the volunteers were asked to head towards the college.
Everyone reached college with a smile of satisfaction on their faces where they were
appreciated by all for their extraordinary effort.
