CU-NSS HEALTH SURVEY CAMP

“The greatest wealth is Health”.

Good Health starts from the very infancy. It is here that protection and care is needed, so that each organ functions well, each organ develops naturally, and there are no deformities, disabilities and diseases but often the health of children remain neglected, with the result that they grow unhealthily and that affects their education as well. A healthy child develops into a healthy adult. Along with the education of the children their health is also a matter of concern for our team CU-NSS. Hence for the same a ‘Health Survey Camp’ was organised in the anganwadi of village Kalujhanda.

This camp was organised on 4th September, 2015 in the anganwadi of nearby village of kalujhanda. It was organised in the presence of ex-President Deepanshu Singla, President Punit Jain, and Vice-President Ritika Goyal, and two other volunteers. All the required volunteers were first told to gather under the CU-Bridge from where everyone was going to leave for the location. After all the requirements were gathered, they were placed in the van and the van left at 10.00 am for the place of action along with volunteers.

At around 10.15am we reached the location where we met all the members of anganwadi and the children over there. The children were between the age of 2-3 years. There were around 10 children. After the interaction we started with our work. We were supposed to check the weight and height of the children in order to know their BMI. BMI is a person's weight in kilograms divided by the square of height in meters. BMI is a measure for indicating nutritional status. All their details were being mentioned in a form by one of the volunteers. Meanwhile one of the volunteer entertained the other children so that they didn’t get bored.

The teachers of anganwadi were also presented with gifts. After this all the volunteers returned back to college. In the evening the event continued in Sankalp. The volunteers present there checked the BMI of the students of Sankalp. The children were also provided with refreshments after which they were taken to ground for playing games. The children of anganwadi as well as the students of Sankalp enjoyed a lot which marked the success of the event.
